This story focuses on evolution. It aims to show that regardless of who you are, where you come from or what/who you like, you have the chance to create your own path and so, to choose between good or bad.
In order to talk about evolution, various and different characters are dragged in a world where they can’t act as they want. Every single one wants to pursue his “happy place”, his comfort. The chance to create it is in their hand. It’s their choice to stay where they are, to progress or to delude themselves that they are progressing even though they are not. Also, the moral of the story is that you need to roll up your sleeves and you will have to sacrifice something in the street if you want to get what you want.
Other main points of the story are also human rights assurance and integration. For this reason, every character of the series has at least a trait that in the current time will not be accepted by the totality of the society. For instance, one of the main characters, the Empress, is transsexual.
You’re still asking why to produce it? Tarots is a series for everyone, from teenagers to adults. It’s topical and talks about current issues even if it’s set in a dystopian medieval setting.
